Job Title: Senior Cargo Technician
Pay: $23–$27
Location: North of Tulsa Area
Shift: 1st Shift – 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Cargo Technician to join our Cargo Department in the aerospace repair and maintenance sector. This role focuses on the inspection, repair, overhaul, and testing of cargo systems and components for commercial airlines, including cargo power drive units (PDUs), restraints, loading systems, doors, and related mechanical and hydraulic assemblies. The Senior Cargo Technician will ensure compliance with aviation standards while supporting efficient turnaround times in a dynamic MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul) environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform advanced diagnostics, repairs, and overhauls on cargo components, such as PDUs, roller trays, ball mats, locks, and hydraulic actuators.
  • Conduct thorough inspections and functional testing of cargo systems, identifying defects or failures in mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic elements.
  • Troubleshoot complex issues in cargo loading and restraint systems using specialized tools and diagnostic software.
  • Collaborate with engineering and other departments to integrate cargo repairs into broader aircraft maintenance projects.
  • Develop and implement preventive maintenance procedures to minimize downtime and enhance system performance.
  • Ensure compliance with FAA, EASA, or equivalent regulations, including documentation, parts traceability, and quality assurance audits.
  • Mentor junior technicians on best practices, safety protocols, and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Manage inventory of cargo-specific parts and tools, coordinating with supply chain as needed.
  • Prepare detailed technical reports, including failure analysis and recommendations for improvements.
  • Stay current with advancements in cargo handling technologies, materials, and repair methodologies.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Associate's degree in Aviation Maintenance, Mechanical, Electrical, or Electronic Engineering, or related field.
  • 5–7 years of experience in aircraft cargo system maintenance, repair, or overhaul, preferably in a commercial airline MRO setting.
  • In-depth knowledge of cargo components (PDUs, mechanical lines, restraints, hydraulic systems) with experience in disassembly, reassembly, and testing.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, technical manuals, and OEM specifications.
  • Skilled with diagnostic equipment, hand tools, and precision measuring instruments.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and ability to work independently or in teams.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs, work in confined spaces, and perform tasks in varying environmental conditions.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including shifts, weekends, or on-call as needed.

Preferred Skills

  • Familiarity with cargo systems from major manufacturers like Boeing and Airbus.
  • Background in accessories or mechanical lines repair related to cargo operations.
  • Strong communication skills for documenting procedures and collaborating with stakeholders.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, dust, and other industrial conditions.
