Position Overview
We are currently seeking a dependable Machine Operator/Helper to join our Tulsa team. This position is responsible for assisting with the setup, operation, monitoring, and troubleshooting of machines used to process coil steel into flat sheets, which are then cut to specific lengths for steel tube manufacturing. The Machine Operator/Helper will play a key role in ensuring quality production and maintaining safety standards within a fast-paced industrial environment.
Key Responsibilities
Perform pre-operation checks to ensure proper equipment startup and operation.
Assist with general labor tasks in all shop areas as needed.
Operate and monitor multiple machines during production to ensure quality and minimize downtime.
Communicate with team members and support teams to ensure continuous production and product accuracy.
Move materials using forklifts and overhead cranes safely and efficiently.
Comply with all safety and health regulations and maintain a clean work environment.
Follow standardized work practices and support continuous improvement initiatives.
The Machine Operator/Helper may also perform additional duties as assigned by supervisors.
Qualifications
Must be detail-oriented with a strong understanding of production and plant processes.
Ability to use precision measuring tools and perform basic mathematical calculations (add, subtract, multiply, divide).
Capable of following written and oral instructions and working effectively in a team.
Must be able to lift heavy equipment, bend, stand, and walk for long periods.
Willingness to work flexible schedules, including weekends, early or late hours, and overtime as necessary.
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl as needed.
Must be able to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
Specific vision abilities include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
Exposure to moving mechanical parts and occasional hot, cold, wet, or humid conditions.
Work environment noise levels are typically loud.
