SmartX’s managed accounts technology is powering the next generation of wealth management platforms for financial advisors. Our clients leverage SmartX technology to create amazing experiences for wealth managers and individuals. We are looking for our first Site Reliability Engineer to help guide SmartX’s efforts focused on scale, reliability, speed, and security. Your focus will be working with our Engineers to build tools and processes that will help with observability and manageability of SmartX technologies. We are looking for a leader that can work to champion best practices and help shape the evolution of the SmartX team. Ideally, you come from a background of scaling organizations leveraging cloud technologies from AWS. 

What you'll do:

  • Improve development and release processes, focusing on automation
  • Collaborate with engineers to ensure applications run efficiently and effectively in all environments
  • Build tools to manage and observe applications running in production
  • Help in design and technical decisions relating to infrastructure
  • Champion security and infrastructure best practices
  • Focus and improve our deployment frequency, change failure rate, MTTR, and up time
  • You will be our first Site Reliability Engineer and we expect you to be a leader inside the engineering organization

What we're looking for:

  • 5+ years as a DevOps, SRE, and/or Infrastructure Engineer, ideally for cloud based applications running on AWS
  • Deep understanding of the goals of Site Reliability DevOps practices and the strategy of CI/CD
  • 5+ years working with complex distributed systems
  • 3+ years of experience with infrastructure management and observability tooling
  • Experience with cloud security and best practices
  • Team player who also works well independently
  • Strong bias for action 
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to multitask and self manage their workload
  • A bachelor's degree in computer science or related technology field is preferred
