JOB OVERVIEW:
We are looking for a Senior 3D Animator with strong expertise in both character and vehicle animations, and proven team leadership skills, to drive the animation vision for our combat racing game. This role requires a blend of creative storytelling, technical animation capabilities, and collaborative leadership to manage a team and deliver high-quality animations that elevate the gameplay experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create and oversee high-quality character and vehicle animations, including rigging, movement cycles, and combat interactions.
- Lead and mentor a small team of animators, ensuring artistic consistency and timely delivery of milestones.
- Utilize Unreal Engine’s animation systems (Sequencer, Control Rig, Anim Blueprints) to bring in-game assets to life.
- Collaborate closely with designers, developers, and artists to maintain animation fidelity and game performance.
- Contribute to the animation pipeline, from concept, storyboarding, and animatics to final polish.
- Implement advanced animation techniques including keyframe, motion capture, and procedural animations.
- Ensure animations enhance player immersion through attention to detail in timing, pacing, physics, and weight.
- Apply camera dynamics, lighting, and shading to maximize cinematic and visual impact.
- Provide creative direction and feedback to internal and external animation contributors.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Animation, Fine Arts, Computer Graphics, or related field.
- Minimum 6+ years of experience in 3D animation for games, with a strong focus on character and vehicle animations.
- Prior experience leading or mentoring animation teams on game development projects.
- Strong portfolio showcasing a range of animation styles, especially in action/combat sequences.
- Proficiency in industry-standard tools: Unreal 5.4, Maya, Blender, 3DS Max.
- Experience with motion capture data cleanup and facial rigging.
- Familiarity with Unreal Blueprint scripting is mandatory.
- Solid understanding of animation principles, physics, and cinematic storytelling.
- Experience working on multiplayer or high-performance gaming projects is a plus.
