Role Purpose
The General Manager will provide strong operational leadership to stabilize, professionalize, and expand a hospitality estate in Lilongwe, Malawi. This is a turnaround and growth role. The successful candidate must be a hands-on, results-driven change agent who can restore discipline, increase productivity, drive profitability, and position the estate for sustainable expansion.
Key Responsibilities:
· Provide full operational oversight of the estate including accommodation, food & beverage, facilities, and support services.
· Lead business turnaround initiatives focused on cost control, productivity, revenue growth, and profitability.
· Drive a performance culture built on accountability, discipline, and service excellence.
· Develop and implement strategic plans for expansion and new revenue streams.
· Strengthen internal systems, reporting structures, and operational controls.
· Oversee financial management including budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
· Build and lead a high-performing management team.
· Ensure compliance with local regulations and hospitality standards.
· Improve customer satisfaction, occupancy rates, and brand reputation.

Qualifications & Experience
· Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Hospitality Management, or related field (MBA an added advantage).
· Minimum 5–7 years senior leadership experience in hospitality or service-based industries.

· Stabilized operations with clear systems and accountability.
· Improved productivity and measurable increase in profitability.
· Stronger management team and improved staff discipline.
· Clear expansion roadmap with at least one new revenue initiative launched.

Remuneration: MK2.5Million /month (Gross)
