JOB SUMMARY
Our client, a fast growing premier resort destination in Lilongwe is currently seeking an experienced
Finance Manager to join their dynamic team. As the Finance Manager, you’ll be a key member of the
Executive Team, reporting directly to the General Manager.
The Financial Manager (FM) will oversee the financial health and performance of the resort by managing
budgets, financial reporting, internal controls, cash flow, procurement, and compliance with local
regulations. The FM will supervise a small team (3 staff members) and work closely with operations,
administration, and external stakeholders such as banks, auditors, and government authorities.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The FM Manager is responsible for the following duties:

1. Financial Management and Reporting
a. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
b. Monitor and manage resort budgets and cash flows.
c. Analyze financial data and provide insights to inform decision-making.
d. Maintain accurate records of revenues, expenses, and inventory. Assist in the
administration of the hotel social and staff benefits programs e.g., employee of the
month, leader of the month and other staff incentives.

2. Team Supervision and Leadership
a. Manage and mentor a team of 3 finance/admin staff.
b. Allocate responsibilities, provide on-the-job training, and ensure work efficiency.
c. Conduct periodic performance evaluations.

3. Internal Controls and Compliance
a. Implement strong internal controls to prevent fraud and ensure financial integrity.
b. Ensure compliance with Malawi Revenue Authority (MRA) regulations, including
VAT, PAYE, and Withholding Tax.
c. Coordinate with external auditors and ensure timely submissions.


4. Procurement and Vandor Management
a. Oversee procurement processes to ensure value for money.
b. Maintain vendor records and negotiate terms for goods and services.
5. Strategic Input
a. Contribute to business planning, pricing strategies and cost con troll measures.
b. Provide recommendations to improve profitability and financial efficiency

EDUCATION
● Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field.
● Professional qualifications such as ICAM (PAEC), ACCA, or CIMA are strongly preferred.
Skills and Experience
● Minimum of 5 years' progressive financial management experience.
● At least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
● Experience in the hospitality, tourism, or service industry is an added advantage.
● Proficient in accounting software (e.g., Sage Pastel, QuickBooks, or similar).
● Strong MS Excel and financial modelling skills.
● Familiarity with Malawian tax systems and MRA online platforms.

● Having strong knowledge of employment and labor laws of Malawi

REMUNERATION
● Starting from MK1,200,000 gross
