 To be qualified for this position, you must have a minimum of 2-6 years’ experience in an accounting role within a professional firm. Bachelor’s Degree in accounting is required. You must have a strong understanding of accounting fundamentals and the ability to pass an accounting skills assessment. Strong understanding and working knowledge of QuickBooks will be crucial in this role. If you have experience with other accounting programs/integrations, such as Thomson Reuter’s Accounting CS software that is a major plus!

To recap, here is what the job will entail and what the requirements are:

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Full-cycle accounting for various clients’ entities, such as: corporations, trusts, family entities, etc. (90%+ of your time)
  • Support the tax department during busy season, assisting with tax return preparation (a maximum of 10% of your time)
  • Review, correct, and enter payroll runs
  • Review and correct client’s accounting records
  • Create and record end of year tax adjusting entries, as well as post CPA’s adjusting journal entries
  • Provide remote accounting and bookkeeping assistance to clients
  • Proactively assist Partner, Tax Managers, and Accounting Manager to ensure accounting projects are on track and meet due dates
  • Provides initiative, recommendations, and assistance regarding accounting policies and procedures
  • Manage confidential client records
  • Special projects as assigned by Partner and Accounting Manager

Skills / Requirements:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Excel, Outlook, and QuickBooks
  • Minimum 2-6 years’ accounting experience, Bachelor’s Degree in accounting is required
  • Prior professional services or CPA firm experience is a plus
  • Experience in Thomson Reuters’ CS program suite, as well as any additional accounting programs/integrations are also a plus
  • Confident decision maker
