We are seeking a full-time Residential Foreman responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of residential construction projects from inception to completion. This includes managing the day-to-day activities on the job site, supervising the crew, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and ensuring the project is completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The ideal candidate will have experience in construction management, excellent leadership and communication skills, and a strong work ethic.
This is a full-time position and requires your own transportation. We would also consider a 1099 contractor if it is the right fit.
Job Duties:
- Team Lead/Mentor: The Foreman will act as a strong mentor to the team on the job site. The ideal candidate should be able to provide guidance and support to team members, promote a positive work environment, and encourage professional growth and development. The Foreman will delegate tasks, provide feedback, and promote teamwork and collaboration among team members. This role's critical aspect is the ability to motivate and inspire team members to achieve their best work.
- Bags-on Carpentry: The Project Foreman will spend 75% of their time working in the field as a carpenter, building and installing structures, ensuring accuracy and precision, and troubleshooting issues that may arise. The remaining 25% of their time will be spent coordinating with subs, the project manager, and the office team.
- Manage Clients: The foreman will work collaboratively with clients. While they are not the primary contact, they will maintain regular communication with the client and communicate any feedback or changes to the project manager.
- Subcontractor Management: The foreman will be responsible for managing subcontractors, including scheduling and overseeing their work, ensuring they adhere to project specifications, and resolving any issues that may arise.
- Daily Logs: The foreperson will update Buildertrend with daily logs that include a summary of the day’s work along with photos.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in residential construction management and carpentry.
- Proven experience with full house builds from inception to completion.
- Strong communication and management skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams.
- Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
- Proficiency in bid requests and estimating.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction plans.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Willingness to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
- Possession of a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety procedures.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry heavy loads of up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work in outdoor environments in various weather conditions.
- Ability to climb ladders and work at heights.
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
