Position Overview:
As an Electrical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, development, and technical support of electrical systems for mining projects. Your expertise will be crucial in producing electrical designs, calculations, and cable schedules that meet industry standards and client specifications. You will work alongside a team of engineers and project managers to ensure the successful delivery of electrical solutions for our mining clients.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and develop electrical systems for mining infrastructure projects.
• Produce detailed cable schedules and electrical design calculations.
• Perform electrical load calculations, voltage drop, short circuit analysis, and protection coordination.
• Ensure compliance with relevant standards, codes, and regulations in the mining sector.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including mechanical, civil, and project management teams, to deliver integrated solutions.
• Prepare and review engineering drawings, schematics, and specifications.
• Provide technical support during installation, commissioning, and operation phases.
• Maintain and update project documentation, including design changes and revisions.

Key Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in electrical design within the mining sector.
• Proficiency in electrical design software (e.g., AutoCAD, ETAP, etc.).
• Experience with cable scheduling and electrical design calculations.
• Strong knowledge of mining standards, regulations, and safety protocols.
• Ability to work on complex electrical designs and provide creative solutions.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently.

Desirable Skills:

• Experience with power distribution systems for mining operations.
• Knowledge of PLC systems and control panel design.
• Familiarity with hazardous area classification and intrinsically safe systems.
• Ability to travel to remote mining sites as needed.
