Job Brief:
Unified Restorations is a premier remediation company in the Dallas / Fort Worth area.  Due to our growth, we are adding to our team and currently seeking a talented person to provide art and collectible restoration support. The ideal Art Restorer candidate will have a degree in Fine Arts as well as a background in painting.  This is not a graphic arts position.

We work on a variety of items, including paintings, works on paper, lithographs, sculptures, photographs, taxidermy, collectibles, furniture, and other items of sentimental value.

Key Responsabilities

  • Catalog and assess items for restoration.
  • Disassemble items to be restored.
  • Clean and re-assemble artwork.
  • Order replacement items such as frames, mats, stretchers, etc.
  • Perform appropriate and accurate restoration techniques in an efficient manner.
  • Provide high touch service to clients with restoration jobs in progress by taking phone calls, reviewing treatment plans, etc.
  • Generate timeline and deliverable expectations for restoration jobs, and track project progress to troubleshoot / ensure targets are met.
  • Identify and recommend steps for improving the quality and efficiency of restoration processes (evaluation, inventory, etc.).
  • Other duties as required

Art Restoration Knowledge:

  • Understand restoration techniques and strategies.
  • How to clean and re-assemble artwork
  • Ideally, the process of digital restoration of photographs and documents.
  • Be able to provide condition reports and art evaluations.

Requirements

  • Have a valid driver’s license
  • Pass a background check and drug test
  • Bachelor or master’s degrees in fine arts.or equivalent experience
  • Have framing and matting knowledge
  • Understanding color matching principles.
  • Working knowledge of basic PC and Mac operations
  • Be ethical, respectful and understanding of our clients’ needs
  • Photoshop experience a plus.

Compensation

  • The pay range is $25 to $30 per hour depending on relevant experience.  A higher range is available for a supervisory position.
  • Eligible for year-end bonus based on company performance
