Multiple Terasaki Fellow positions are available at the Terasaki Institute for Biomedical Innovation (TIBI). The Institute is developing ‘personalized’ solutions that utilize micro- and nanoscale technologies and functional biomaterials to enable a range of therapies for tissue and organ regeneration, cardiovascular diseases, and cancer. To enable this vision, the institute works closely with clinicians including interventional radiologists, cardiologists, and surgeons. Directed by Dr. Ali Khademhosseini, the institute has numerous projects including the use of patient-derived stem cells to engineer tissues and cell-based therapies; organ-on-a-chip systems that aim to mimic the human physiology and pathology for drug screening in a personalized manner; and functional biomaterials and microdevices. The Institute seeks to recruit, flourish, and retain exceptional researchers with outstanding talent and technical skills as Terasaki Fellows. The Fellows will help advance the Institute’s vision and output in biomedical innovation. The Fellowships are intended for brilliant applicants with outstanding expertise and achievements who received their PhD or MD degree within the last five years. Salary will be commensurate with experience. Project start date: Immediately.

Fellowship conditions:


The Terasaki Fellows program is intended as a step toward a Fellow’s development as a potential faculty member at TIBI or another institution of higher education. Moreover, the Fellow is not required to accept a post-fellowship faculty appointment as a condition of the Fellowship. TIBI is not obligated to offer any Fellow a faculty appointment upon completion of their fellowship.


Fellowship Program Expectations and Requirements:

All publications and conference presentations authored by the Fellow must acknowledge support by the Terasaki Fellows Program.Fellows are encouraged to participate in grant/foundation proposal writing, apply junior faculty awards/fellowships, in addition to the customary activities of postdoctoral fellows: research, publication, and presentation.
