Position Overview
We’re hiring a knowledgeable and driven Welding Engineer to support automotive metal fabrication and welding operations. As a Welding Engineer, you’ll ensure all welding processes meet customer quality and performance requirements through technical analysis, process development, and hands-on plant-floor support.
Key Responsibilities
Develop, maintain, and optimize weld parameters, procedures, and documentation
Conduct weld inspections and analyze weld quality data
Support PPAP, customer audits, and internal quality reviews
Troubleshoot welding and robotic automation issues
Maintain weld documentation, including Paxit records
Participate in problem-solving, corrective actions, and continuous improvement
Assist in launching new programs and supporting existing production operations
Train production staff on weld quality requirements, best practices, and standards
Requirements & Qualifications
2-year Welding Technologist/Technician education required; higher education preferred
Strong understanding of welding metallurgy, GMAW, and resistance/projection welding
Knowledge of NDE fundamentals
Experience with industrial welding robots (troubleshooting & adjustments)
Basic understanding of GD&T and metrology
Strong communication, problem-solving, and teamwork abilities
Ability to work on a plant-floor, production-driven schedule
Flexibility to work overtime or alternate shifts when required
