Job Title: Welding Engineer
Hours: 7:00 AM – 4:30 PM | Monday–Friday

Position Overview

We’re hiring a knowledgeable and driven Welding Engineer to support automotive metal fabrication and welding operations. As a Welding Engineer, you’ll ensure all welding processes meet customer quality and performance requirements through technical analysis, process development, and hands-on plant-floor support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and optimize weld parameters, procedures, and documentation
  • Conduct weld inspections and analyze weld quality data
  • Support PPAP, customer audits, and internal quality reviews
  • Troubleshoot welding and robotic automation issues
  • Maintain weld documentation, including Paxit records
  • Participate in problem-solving, corrective actions, and continuous improvement
  • Assist in launching new programs and supporting existing production operations
  • Train production staff on weld quality requirements, best practices, and standards

Requirements & Qualifications

  • 2-year Welding Technologist/Technician education required; higher education preferred
  • Strong understanding of welding metallurgy, GMAW, and resistance/projection welding
  • Knowledge of NDE fundamentals
  • Experience with industrial welding robots (troubleshooting & adjustments)
  • Basic understanding of GD&T and metrology
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and teamwork abilities
  • Ability to work on a plant-floor, production-driven schedule
  • Flexibility to work overtime or alternate shifts when required
