Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced VTL Operator to join our Sand Springs team. The VTL Operator will be responsible for setting up and operating vertical turret lathes to machine large, heavy components to exact specifications. As a VTL Operator, you will apply machining expertise, ensure quality standards, and support continuous production efficiency.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Set up and operate vertical turret lathes to perform turning, facing, boring, and threading operations
• Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work orders
• Select, install, and verify correct tooling and fixtures for each job
• Monitor machine operations and adjust settings to maintain quality and efficiency
• Inspect finished parts with precision tools such as micrometers, calipers, and dial indicators
• Perform routine machine maintenance and report mechanical issues promptly
• Maintain accurate production records and follow safety/quality standards
• Collaborate with engineers and supervisors to resolve machining challenges

Required Skills & Experience

• Proven experience operating vertical turret lathes and similar heavy-duty equipment
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings
• Strong attention to detail with a commitment to high-quality work
• Mechanical aptitude and effective problem-solving skills
• Ability to work both independently and within a team environment
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs as required
