Pay: $15/hour
Hours: Monday – Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM

Position Overview

We are seeking a dependable and organized Surgical Cart Tech to assist in the preparation and delivery of surgical instrument sets within a healthcare environment. The Surgical Cart Tech is responsible for transporting carts of instrument trays across connected buildings, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with aseptic and inventory management procedures. This role requires excellent organization, communication, and attention to detail in a fast-paced medical setting.

Key Responsibilities

Transport instrument sets between hospital buildings via the sky bridge with attention to safety and timing.
• Maintain organization of instrument containers when not in transit.
• Communicate effectively with Surgery, Instrumentation Systems, and S&D personnel to locate, request, and deliver needed supplies.
• Identify and report any breaks in aseptic technique during handling or packaging.
• Operate equipment such as carousels, handheld computers, and other inventory tools.
• Utilize handheld devices to order, restock, and maintain surgical and anesthesia inventory levels.
• Monitor case cart processes for each surgical case, checking for completeness and missing items.
• Clean and maintain supply carts and bins according to monthly schedules.
• Coordinate the return, rotation, and replenishment of unused instruments and supplies.
• Maintain accurate inventory control in accordance with hospital PAR levels.
• Attend mandatory in-service trainings and educational programs.
• Support department goals and initiatives through teamwork and attention to detail.

Required Skills & Experience

• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to operate basic computer systems and handheld inventory devices.
• Knowledge of aseptic handling procedures preferred.
• Physically able to push carts and lift up to 50 lbs throughout the shift.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced hospital environment.
• Demonstrated reliability and professional behavior.

Decision Making & Work Environment

• Exercises independent judgment in routine decisions following standard protocols.
• Interacts daily with hospital staff, nurses, and clinical supervisors.
• Work involves both independent duties and collaborative team tasks.
• Must adhere to hospital safety, cleanliness, and confidentiality standards.
