Pay: $15/hour

Position Overview

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Surgical Cart Tech to assist in maintaining the flow of surgical instruments and supplies between facilities. The Surgical Cart Tech is responsible for safely transporting instrument sets across buildings via the sky bridge, ensuring efficiency, organization, and compliance with sterile handling procedures. This is a temporary position running from September 15th through December 13th, 2025.

Key Responsibilities

Push carts of instrument sets between buildings using the sky bridge with safety and awareness.
Organize instrument containers and maintain clean, orderly storage areas.
Communicate effectively with Surgery, Instrumentation Systems, and S&D personnel to request, receive, and deliver supplies promptly.
Monitor and maintain aseptic technique during all handling and packaging processes.
• Operate carousels, handheld computers, and other inventory management tools.
Restock and maintain surgical and anesthesia inventory using handheld devices.
• Maintain PAR levels on supply carts and carousels.
Review case carts against preference cards for accuracy and completeness.
Order or locate missing items and ensure they are delivered before each surgical procedure.
Clean supply carts and bins according to monthly schedules.
Return unused or overstocked items to proper storage, rotating stock as necessary.
Support hospital goals through participation in performance improvement and educational programs.
Attend required in-services and meet unit educational standards.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Surgical Services Resources Manager.

Qualifications

• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to work efficiently and independently in a fast-paced hospital environment.
• Comfortable with physical activity, including pushing carts and standing for extended periods.
• Basic computer literacy and familiarity with inventory tools and handheld devices.
• Commitment to safety, cleanliness, and adherence to sterile handling procedures.
