Position Overview

The Structural MIG Welder is responsible for performing high-quality welding on structural steel components used in heavy industrial and structural fabrication projects. This Structural MIG Welder role focuses on 3G position MIG welding while maintaining proper weld penetration, alignment, and structural integrity. The ideal Structural MIG Welder is experienced in structural steel fabrication and capable of working efficiently in a fast-paced production environment.

Required Experience & Skills

• Structural MIG (GMAW) welding experience required
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and weld symbols
• Strong understanding of weld quality, penetration, and structural standards
• Ability to follow welding procedures and safety guidelines
• Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
• Ability to work efficiently in a high-production fabrication environment

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Perform MIG (GMAW) welding in the 3G position on structural steel components
• Weld vertical joints according to project specifications and quality standards
• Read and interpret blueprints and weld symbols to determine welding requirements
• Maintain proper weld penetration, alignment, and overall weld appearance
• Follow production schedules and welding procedures to meet fabrication deadlines
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safety-focused work area
• Follow all company safety policies and PPE requirements

Weld Test Requirements

• 3G MIG Downhill Root / MIG Uphill Cap
• 4F Fillet Weld Test

Preferred Experience

• Previous structural steel fabrication experience preferred
