Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Sourcing Manager to support multi-site manufacturing operations for a global industrial heat-transfer equipment manufacturer. The Sourcing Manager will play a critical role in driving strategic sourcing initiatives, supplier performance, cost optimization, and long-term supply chain stability across U.S. operations.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Sourcing & Procurement
Lead sourcing initiatives across multiple U.S. manufacturing sites with significant annual spend
Manage key categories including structural steel, electrical components, and precision metal fabrication
Develop and execute sourcing strategies focused on cost, quality, delivery, and risk mitigation
Analyze global commodities markets to forecast pricing trends, supply risks, and material availability (1–3 year outlook)
Build multi-tier supplier strategies to ensure continuity and capacity alignment
Vendor Management & Negotiation
Develop and maintain strong domestic and international supplier relationships
Negotiate pricing, contracts, long-term agreements, and capacity commitments
Hold suppliers accountable to performance metrics and contractual obligations
Evaluate supplier financial stability, production capability, and risk exposure
Leadership & Team Development
Lead a team of up to 18 team members (6 direct, 12 indirect) across multiple locations
Establish clear goals, structured delegation, and performance expectations
Coach and mentor team members while addressing performance issues proactively
Operational Excellence
Track and report sourcing KPIs including cost savings, lead-time reductions, and supplier scorecards
Implement standard work and continuous improvement practices
Align sourcing decisions with working capital goals, quality standards, and production uptime
Risk Management & Compliance
Anticipate and manage risks related to tariffs, logistics, regulatory changes, and geopolitical factors
Develop contingency plans including dual sourcing and regional diversification strategies
Ensure ethical sourcing practices and compliance with company policies
Requirements & Qualifications
3–5+ years of strategic sourcing experience in manufacturing, heavy industrial, or engineered products environments
Experience managing $100M+ annual spend and leading multi-site sourcing teams
Strong knowledge of fabricated components, including weldments, steel structures, and electrical systems
Proven leadership presence with the ability to influence cross-functional teams
High level of integrity, accountability, and business judgment
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management or related field OR
5+ years of direct experience with responsibility for material cost reduction and supplier strategy
