Job Overview

We are seeking a dependable Shop Helper / Fabrication Helper to support daily operations in a fabrication/manufacturing environment. This Shop Helper / Fabrication Helper role is ideal for someone with 1–2 years of experience working in a fab shop, grinding, or assisting skilled trades. The Shop Helper / Fabrication Helper helps with material preparation, shop organization, and general labor tasks to keep production running efficiently and safely.

Required Qualifications

• 1–2 years of experience in a fabrication shop or manufacturing environment
• Experience using grinders, hand tools, and basic power tools
• Ability to read basic shop instructions or work orders
• Comfortable standing, lifting, bending, and working in a fast-paced shop environment
• Strong work ethic, reliability, and willingness to learn

Key Responsibilities

The Shop Helper / Fabrication Helper role includes the following duties:

• Assist fabricators and welders with daily shop activities
• Perform grinding, deburring, and material finishing using hand and power tools
• Move materials, parts, and finished products throughout the shop
• Prep materials for fabrication (cutting, cleaning, staging)
• Maintain a clean and organized work area
• Follow safety procedures and wear required PPE at all times
• Support basic shop maintenance and other duties as assigned

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience assisting welders or fabricators
• Familiarity with metal materials (steel, aluminum, etc.)
• Forklift or overhead crane experience (a plus, not required)

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
• Ability to stand and work on feet for extended periods
• Ability to work in a shop environment with noise, dust, and heat

Work Environment

• Industrial fabrication/manufacturing shop
• PPE required
