Position Overview

The Shop Helper is responsible for supporting craftsmen and production teams in a fabrication environment while maintaining safety and quality standards. This Shop Helper role involves assisting with material handling, equipment operation, and general shop tasks in a safety-sensitive setting. The ideal Shop Helper is motivated, dependable, and eager to learn new skills in a hands-on environment.

Required Experience & Skills

• Basic fabrication shop experience preferred
• Ability to operate or learn overhead cranes and power tools
• Ability to read and write basic shop communications
• Ability to use a tape measure accurately
• Willingness to learn shop drawings and bills of material (BOMs)
• Strong work ethic with a desire to learn and grow
• Ability to work safely in a safety-sensitive environment
• Team-oriented mindset with strong communication skills

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Assist craftsmen with assigned tasks and daily operations
• Work around overhead cranes, forklifts, trucks, and automated equipment
• Meet or exceed company productivity and quality standards
• Follow all safety policies and procedures
• Maintain 5S standards and a clean work environment
• Contribute to team efforts to complete projects efficiently and safely
