Job Position: Shop Helper
Pay Range: $18 per hour
Shift/Hours: 4:00 PM - 3:30 AM

Position Overview

The Shop Helper is responsible for supporting craftsmen with assigned tasks while adhering to safety and quality standards. This position requires working with and around overhead cranes, forklifts, trucks, power equipment, automated machinery, and other potentially hazardous processes. Due to the nature of the job, it is classified as a Safety Sensitive position.

Key Responsibilities

• Safety Compliance: Work with and around hazardous equipment, including overhead cranes and power tools, while adhering to all safety policies and procedures.
• Craft Assistance: Support craftsmen with their assigned tasks efficiently and effectively.
• Productivity Standards: Maintain productivity levels that meet or exceed the company's established requirements as outlined in work instructions.
• Quality Assurance: Ensure workmanship meets the company's quality standards.
• 5S Maintenance: Uphold 5S organizational and cleanliness requirements in the workspace.
• Team Collaboration: Demonstrate professionalism and actively contribute to the team’s success by providing input and support to complete project assignments in a safe, timely, and efficient manner.

Skills and Experience

• Basic Fabrication Experience: Familiarity with shop environments and processes.
• Equipment Operation: Proficiency in operating overhead cranes and power tools.
• Communication Skills: Ability to read and write basic shop communications.
• Measurement Skills: Competence in using shop tape measures.
• Blueprint Reading: Willingness to learn to interpret shop drawings and understand bills of materials.
• Adaptability: Ability to acquire new skills and adapt to different tasks as needed.
