Shipping/ Receiving Clerk

Pay: $18+/hr. (Depending on experience)

Hours:  Monday – Friday 6AM-4:30PM (Some Saturdays)

Job Description:

As a Shipping and Receiving clerk, you will ensure proper storage of materials and completion of daily tasks. Key responsibilities include loading/unloading trucks and trailers using a forklift or crane, checking in materials against purchase orders or packing lists, and managing any receiving or material issues. You will enter materials into the Made 2 Manage system and ensure they meet shop drawing specifications, maintaining good document control. Additionally, you will support logistics handlers, receivers, and shippers in managing the inventory system and work closely with department leads. Maintaining departmental housekeeping, inspecting parts for quality issues, and fostering a positive team environment are essential. Performance standards include maintaining a safety incident-free department, achieving less than 1% receiver errors, meeting productivity standards, identifying and segregating non-compliant materials, and adhering to safety standards. The role requires autonomy, accountability, and collaborative decision-making with the Logistics Manager.

Required Experience:

  • Ability to work cooperatively with others and deal respectfully with the public, customers, vendors, other employees, managers, and executive management.
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks concurrently.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in loading/unloading trucks and trailers with a forklift or crane.
  • Ability to read and understand shop drawings for material conformity checks.
  • Strong document control skills in accordance with business procedures.
  • Experience in maintaining inventory systems like Made 2 Manage.
  • Commitment to maintaining departmental housekeeping and safety standards.
  • Ability to inspect parts during handling quality issues.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities and abilities to create a positive team atmosphere.
