Shear Operator

·         Job Type: Temp-to-Hire

·         Location: Sapulpa, OK

·         Pay: $17 per hour

·         Shift: Sunday–Thursday, 10:30 PM – 7:00 AM (Training required on day shift for at least one week: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM)

Position Overview

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Shear Operator to join our team in a climate-controlled, team-oriented warehouse. This role is ideal for a candidate looking to enhance their skills in machine operations while contributing to a growing company. The right individual will demonstrate strong attendance, a willingness to work in multiple departments, and a drive to learn new skills.

Key Responsibilities

·         Set up and operate shearing machines to cut metal plates accurately according to customer specifications.

·         Inspect cut plates for dimensional accuracy and surface quality, ensuring compliance with company and industry standards.

·         Perform routine maintenance on shearing equipment to maintain efficiency and longevity.

·         Follow all safety protocols to maintain a secure and hazard-free work environment.

·         Collaborate with production and quality control teams to coordinate operations and resolve issues.

·         Utilize computers proficiently for data entry and inventory tracking.

Qualifications & Requirements

·         Minimum of 2 years’ experience operating shears in a manufacturing or warehouse setting.

·         Forklift and overhead crane experience required.

·         Proficiency in basic warehouse and inventory systems.

·         Ability to read a tape measure down to 1/16 of an inch.

·         Ability to lift and move materials weighing 50 lbs. or more.

·         Strong mathematical skills for quick, on-the-job calculations.

·         Proficiency in computer applications for operational tracking.

·         Team-oriented and self-sufficient work ethic.

·         Strong organizational and communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members.
