Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to support financial operations in Claremore. The Senior Accountant will manage complex accounting tasks, oversee financial reporting accuracy, and play a key role in month-end close, compliance, and process improvements.

This position requires strong analytical ability, advanced accounting knowledge, and the capability to work independently while mentoring junior accounting staff.

Financial Reporting & General Ledger

The Senior Accountant will:

• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial statements
• Perform complex general ledger reconciliations and resolve discrepancies
• Maintain accuracy and integrity of financial reporting systems
• Lead components of month-end and year-end close processes

Accounting Operations

• Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll entries, and fixed assets
• Review journal entries prepared by junior accountants
• Ensure proper classification of revenue and expenses
• Maintain compliance with internal policies

Compliance & Audit

• Support internal and external audits by preparing schedules and documentation
• Ensure compliance with GAAP (or IFRS, if applicable)
• Assist with implementation of internal controls and accounting procedures

Analysis & Business Support

• Perform variance analysis against budgets and forecasts
• Provide financial insights to leadership regarding trends and risks
• Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes

Process Improvement

• Identify and recommend improvements to accounting systems and workflows
• Participate in finance system upgrades or transitions
• Develop and implement best practices and SOPs

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 4–7+ years of accounting experience with progressive responsibility
• Strong understanding of GAAP (or IFRS, if applicable)
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Experience with accounting ERP systems (NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks, etc.)
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail

Preferred:

• CPA or actively pursuing CPA certification
• Experience in corporate or public accounting environments
