Position Overview

The Saw Operator is responsible for cutting and preparing pipe materials for fabrication in an oil and gas construction environment. This Saw Operator role involves operating shop equipment, reading blueprints, and ensuring precise cuts based on specifications. The ideal Saw Operator has experience in a metal fabrication or welding shop and understands pipe materials, diameters, and thicknesses.

Required Experience & Skills

• Proven experience operating bandsaws and fabrication equipment
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and fabrication drawings
• Familiarity with pipe materials, diameters, and grading systems
• Experience with pneumatic and Oxy/Acetylene pipe bevelers (REQUIRED)
• Ability to operate hand and power tools safely and effectively
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality work
• Ability to maintain a clean and safe work environment
• Must pass background check and pre-employment drug screen
• Valid driver’s license required

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Operate shop bandsaw, drill press, and metalworking equipment
• Measure and cut piping accurately based on prints and specifications
• Identify pipe diameters, material grades, and heat numbers for tracking
• Lay out and prepare Olet connections for fabrication
• Operate equipment including:
– Pneumatic and Oxy/Acetylene Pipe Bevelers
– Oxy/Acetylene Torch
– Plasma Torch
– Die Grinder
– 4.5” Angle Grinder
– Drill Press
• Follow blueprints and fabrication instructions accurately
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safety-focused work area
