Position Overview

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Sandblasting / Paint Prep technician to join a growing team in North Tulsa. The Sandblasting / Paint Prep role involves preparing metal surfaces for painting and coating by cleaning, sandblasting, and performing surface treatments to ensure a high-quality finish. This position requires precision, strong attention to detail, and a commitment to safety and teamwork in a fast-paced industrial environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate sandblasting equipment to clean and prepare metal surfaces for painting or coating.
• Inspect parts for rust, scale, and other contaminants before and after blasting.
• Perform masking, taping, and surface protection to shield areas not designated for blasting or painting.
• Clean and degrease parts using solvents and cleaning agents.
• Assist in mixing and preparing paint materials when needed.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, ensuring proper disposal of hazardous materials.
• Follow all safety protocols and wear required PPE at all times.
• Perform routine maintenance on sandblasting and paint prep equipment.
• Collaborate with painters and production teams to ensure workflow efficiency and quality standards.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of experience in sandblasting, industrial painting, or surface preparation.
• Familiarity with safety procedures and handling of hazardous materials.
• Ability to read and interpret work orders and technical drawings.
• Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and working on your feet for extended periods.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
