Hours: 6AM-4:30PM (Will be switching to night shift during the fall)

Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled Sandblaster! The primary responsibilities include using abrasive blasting equipment to clean and prepare surfaces of metal or hard-composition objects, effectively removing scale, rust, paint, and dirt. The candidate will load and unload abrasive materials into the blasting machine, ensuring proper setup and maintenance of the equipment. Adherence to safety protocols and the use of protective gear are essential for safe operations. Additional duties involve inspecting surfaces after blasting to ensure they meet required specifications and standards, cleaning workpiece surfaces in preparation for coating using cleaning fluids, solvents, brushes, scrapers, steam, sandpaper, or cloth, and rinsing, draining, or wiping coated workpieces to remove excess coating material or facilitate setting of finish coats. The candidate will also apply masking or other protective materials to surfaces during processing procedures and demonstrate flexibility to work in other departments as needed. Must be capable of lifting 50 pounds or more.

Required Qualifications:

• 1-2 years of sandblasting experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
• Preferred experience in grinding, deburring, and masking.
• Experience operating a forklift and willingness to learn how to operate other heavy machinery as needed.
• Ability to constantly climb stairs or ladders and maintain balance without assistance.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
• Willingness to work in outdoor conditions, including all weather conditions and non-air-conditioned facilities.
• Ability to move and maintain various positions, including stooping, kneeling, and crouching, to accomplish tasks in different environments, including tight and confined spaces.
• Must wear all required PPE, including a full mask.
