Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Quality Manager to lead the Quality and Inspection Team in our Tulsa aerospace facility. The Quality Manager will ensure that all products meet or exceed customer specifications while maintaining compliance with AS9100 and ISO certifications. As a Quality Manager, you will oversee quality personnel, departmental workflows, and resource planning while promoting a safe, clean, and efficient work environment.
Purpose of the Position
The primary objective of the Quality Manager is to develop, maintain, and continually improve the Quality Management System (QMS), ensuring superior product quality and reliability. This role is critical in maintaining compliance with industry standards—specifically AS9100 and ISO—while driving continuous improvement across all quality functions.
Major Responsibilities
- Lead and manage all Quality/Inspection staff
- Ensure inspectors are properly trained and competent
- Develop and manage departmental budgets and resources efficiently
- Maintain and improve the QMS in accordance with AS9100 and ISO standards
- Act as official Management Representative
- Lead internal audits and coordinate external certification audits
- Manage inspection processes for internally produced parts, customer-supplied materials, and externally processed components
- Ensure conformance to specifications before shipment to customers
- Supervise and ensure proper training for employees on quality standards and procedures
- Maintain accurate training records and monitor competency
- Train staff on AS9100D requirements and ensure operational compliance
- Stay current with industry standards updates and implement best practices
- Oversee tool calibration processes and maintain accurate records
- Manage the document control system to ensure accuracy and compliance
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Experience
- 5–10 years of experience in a quality management role within aerospace manufacturing
- Proven experience as a Management Representative for AS9100D
- Strong understanding of QMS principles and ISO/AS standards
- Internal auditing experience and ability to manage audit schedules
- Skilled in conducting management reviews and presenting QMS performance to leadership
- Knowledge of Corrective Action Reports, Preventive Actions, Continuous Improvement Plans, and MRB processes
- Demonstrated leadership in driving measurable improvements across an organization
- Proficiency in GD&T and blueprint interpretation
- Experience with complex layout inspection and inspection systems
- Excellent communication skills across all organizational levels
- Proven ability to document quality manuals, procedures, work instructions, and forms in compliance with AS9100D
- Minimum of 2 years of internal, second-, or third-party auditing experience
- Ability to travel 5–10% overnight
Physical & Environmental Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Ability to travel to supplier/vendor sites as required
- Work performed in both office and manufacturing environments
