QA Technician
Pay: $17.50 (includes shift differential)
Hours: 1st Shift | 6:00 AM - 3:00 PM | OT as needed

Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented QA Technician to ensure compliance with USDA, GMP, and HACCP standards while maintaining high-quality food safety practices. As a QA Technician, you will conduct inspections, perform testing, and work closely with production teams to maintain quality control and regulatory compliance.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Monitor production processes to ensure adherence to USDA, GMP, HACCP, and company policies.
  • Perform routine quality checks on raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods to ensure they meet standards.
  • Maintain accurate quality control logs, inspection reports, and food safety documentation.
  • Ensure all documentation meets regulatory and audit requirements.
  • Assist with preparing and submitting reports for internal and external audits.
  • Conduct product testing such as temperature checks, pH testing, moisture analysis, and weight checks.
  • Notify the FSQA Supervisor of any test result deviations.
  • Ensure product compliance with USDA, GMP, and other applicable regulations.
  • Support implementation and maintenance of food safety and quality policies.
  • Stay current on regulatory updates and industry standards.
  • Collaborate with production and sanitation teams to maintain standards throughout processing.
  • Provide guidance on proper handling, storage, and processing of materials to ensure safety and quality.
  • Communicate any quality or safety concerns promptly.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; degree in food science, microbiology, or related field preferred.
  • Previous food safety or quality assurance experience in meat processing or food manufacturing preferred.
  • Knowledge of HACCP, SPC, GMP, SSOP and related regulations.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow strict guidelines.
  • Basic computer skills for data entry and record keeping.
  • Strong communication skills; Spanish language knowledge helpful but not required.
  • Ability to work in cold/refrigerated environments.
  • Capable of thriving in a fast-paced and regulated setting.
