Precision Grinder

·         Pay: $21–$29 per hour

·         Shift: Friday–Sunday, 6:00 AM – 6:00 PM (includes an 11.5% shift premium)

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Precision Grinder to join our team. This role is essential in ensuring that parts are manufactured with exceptional accuracy, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness while maintaining the highest quality standards. The ideal candidate will work collaboratively with team members to meet production schedules, optimize machine efficiency, and uphold company standards.

Key Responsibilities

·         Manufacture high-precision parts while ensuring cost-effectiveness and adherence to quality standards.

·         Collaborate with departments to maintain smooth communication and coordination throughout the production process.

·         Operate machines and equipment proficiently with minimal supervision and participate in cross-training opportunities to enhance skills.

·         Work closely with supervisors to meet production schedules, reduce waste, and maintain strict quality control.

·         Perform self-inspections to ensure parts meet specifications before final submission.

·         Set up machines and tooling for each job, ensuring adherence to quality, surface finish, and dimensional tolerance requirements.

·         Maintain a positive, service-oriented attitude while fostering strong relationships with coworkers, supervisors, and customers.

Required Experience & Skills

·         Experience with ID, OD, Universal, Manual, and CNC grinding.

·         Proficiency in working with hardened tool steel, Ko-Lee grinders, and similar equipment.

·         Ability to work with tolerances of 0.0005" or less.

·         Prior experience as a precision grinder or in a similar machining role is a plus.

·         Strong attention to detail and the ability to interpret technical drawings.

·         Knowledge of precision tools and machining techniques.

·         Excellent verbal communication skills for effective collaboration.

·         Self-motivated, independent worker with a focus on quality and efficiency.

·         A cooperative, team-oriented approach that fosters a positive work environment.

Physical Requirements

·         Ability to stand, bend, squat, and climb for 95% of the work shift while operating machinery and inspecting work.

·         Must be able to move materials and parts weighing up to 50 lbs.

·         Use of lifting devices is encouraged when possible; however, manual handling may be required due to limited space and confined areas around machines.
