Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled and dependable Painter / Shop Helper to join a decorative metal fabrication company in Tulsa, OK. The Painter / Shop Helper will assist in various shop operations, including painting, fabrication support, and general maintenance duties. This role requires a strong work ethic, hands-on mechanical skills, and an eye for detail to ensure all finished products meet company and customer quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Fabrication Assistance: Support the fabrication team by cutting, shaping, and preparing iron materials for custom decorative fences, gates, and railings.
• Painting & Finishing: Assist in painting and surface preparation, ensuring clean, durable finishes on all fabricated products.
• Blueprint Interpretation: Read and follow blueprints and design specifications to support fabrication and assembly tasks.
• Welding Support: Help with setup and preparation for MIG, TIG, and Stick welding processes as needed.
• Metal Shaping & Cleanup: Use saws, grinders, and drill presses to cut, smooth, and shape materials; assist with post-weld cleanup and part preparation.
• Quality Control: Inspect completed pieces for accuracy, finish, and safety compliance.
• Installation Support: Help load materials and assist with installation of fabricated iron products as needed.
• Safety & Maintenance: Follow all safety guidelines and maintain a clean, organized work area.

Qualifications

• Experience in fabrication, painting, or metalworking preferred.
• Familiarity with welding, grinding, and cutting tools.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality craftsmanship.
• Ability to lift heavy materials and perform physical work safely.
• Must be team-oriented, reliable, and self-motivated.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training a plus.
