Position Overview

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Paint Assistant to support paint preparation and masking operations in a manufacturing environment. This role focuses on proper part preparation, organization, and movement through the paint process while maintaining quality, safety, and cleanliness standards.

The Paint Assistant plays a key role in ensuring parts are ready for painting and handled correctly throughout the workflow.

Key Responsibilities

• Read and follow work orders, instructions, and sketches to prepare parts for painting
• Sand, strip, tape, and mask parts prior to paint application
• Arrange parts on tables or racks for efficient workflow
• Move parts through the paint process while maintaining product traceability
• Coordinate workflow with painters and production leadership
• Operate pallet jacks and forklifts (certification required or obtainable)
• Maintain clean and organized paint and racking areas per Ultraclean/6S standards
• Handle customer-supplied products with care
• Follow all safety procedures and properly use required PPE
• Support quality standards to meet or exceed customer expectations
• Work flexible hours, including overtime and weekends, as business needs require

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred
• Candidates without a diploma/GED may be required to complete a pre-employment assessment
• Previous paint or manufacturing experience preferred
• Ability to read, write, and comprehend American English
