Position Overview

The Mechanical Assembly position is responsible for assembling components and subassemblies using blueprints, tools, and production instructions in a heavy industrial environment. This Mechanical Assembly role requires strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to meet production and quality standards.

Required Experience & Skills

• Minimum 2+ years of mechanical or assembly experience
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
• Experience using hand tools, power tools, and measuring instruments
• Strong understanding of mechanical assembly processes
• Basic math skills (fractions, decimals, measurements)
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
• Strong attention to detail and quality control
• Must have or be able to obtain basic hand tools

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

The Mechanical Assembly role includes:

• Assemble components, subassemblies, and finished products according to blueprints and specifications
• Prepare work by gathering materials, tools, and required parts
• Use hand tools, power tools, and equipment to attach, bolt, drill, and fit components
• Perform testing and calibration to ensure products meet tolerances
• Conduct go/no-go inspections using measuring tools
• Read and interpret production drawings and instructions
• Collaborate with team members to meet production goals and deadlines
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area

Additional Requirements

• Must complete tape measure and mechanical assessments prior to start
• Must provide or obtain basic hand tools

Preferred Experience

• Training or certification in blueprint reading or welding
• Experience in heavy industrial or manufacturing environments

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs (occasionally more)
• Frequent standing, bending, climbing, and lifting
• Ability to work in a heavy industrial environment
• Vision requirements include close, distance, peripheral, and depth perception
