Mechanical Assembler

Pay: $17+hr.

Hours: Monday-Friday 6AM-2:30PM

Job Description:

The Mechanical assembler prepares work by studying assembly instructions, blueprints, specifications, and parts lists, and gathering necessary parts, subassemblies, tools, and materials. Tasks include assembling metal components, subassemblies, products, or systems by following work orders, production drawings, sample assemblies, or verbal instructions. Assembles large or heavy subassemblies and complete units, reading and interpreting blueprints and drawings as needed. Tests and calibrates parts and mechanisms to meet tolerances and product specifications. Utilizes hand tools, power tools, welders, and machines to achieve specified dimensional characteristics. Performs on-line testing and inspection using measuring instruments and test equipment to ensure parts and assemblies meet production specifications and standards. Additional duties may be assigned as needed.

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Two (2) years of experience as a mechanic.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints/drawings.
• Certificates of training in blueprint reading and welding preferred.
• Proficient in basic math (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division) using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. frequently and occasionally lift/move more than 50 lbs.
