Position Overview

The Material Handler is responsible for moving, loading, and organizing materials to support production and meet company standards. This Material Handler role involves working with forklifts, overhead cranes, and other equipment in a safety-sensitive environment. The ideal Material Handler is team-oriented, safety-focused, and able to meet productivity and quality expectations.

Required Experience & Skills

• Ability to work in a safety-sensitive environment around heavy equipment
• Experience operating or willingness to learn forklifts and material handling equipment
• Ability to read and write basic shop communications
• Ability to use a tape measure accurately
• Basic fabrication shop experience preferred
• Strong teamwork skills and ability to work independently
• Commitment to maintaining quality and safety standards
• Ability to pass a forklift training class

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Load and unload materials and merchandise from trucks
• Pack and prepare materials appropriately for transport
• Locate and move raw materials and finished products
• Follow instructions for material movement and job orders
• Operate forklifts, overhead cranes, hoists, and industrial equipment
• Meet or exceed company productivity and quality standards
• Follow all safety policies and procedures
• Maintain 5S standards and a clean work environment
