Position Overview

The Manufacturing Technician I supports aerospace and spaceflight production through hands-on fabrication and structural assembly processes. This Manufacturing Technician I role involves working with precision components, interpreting technical documentation, and maintaining strict quality standards in a high-performance manufacturing environment.

The ideal Manufacturing Technician I is detail-oriented, mechanically inclined, and committed to producing reliable, high-quality components while supporting production goals related to Quality, Cost, Delivery, Safety, and Attitude (QCDSA).

Required Experience & Skills

• High School Diploma or GED required
• 0–2 years of manufacturing, fabrication, or assembly experience
• Ability to read work instructions, process sheets, and technical drawings
• Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
• Ability to handle precision aerospace components carefully and accurately
• Ability to multi-task and meet production deadlines
• Strong communication and teamwork skills

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical fabrication using hand tools and inspection equipment
• Operate within fabrication disciplines such as deburring, shearing, polishing, sawing, and routing
• Receive cross-training in assembly, brake forming, heat treat, hot forming, and press forming processes
• Follow detailed work instructions, blueprints, and production documentation
• Conduct basic visual and dimensional inspections of manufactured components
• Accurately complete production routers, inspection logs, and documentation
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safety-focused work environment
• Collaborate with production teams to identify manufacturing issues and improve processes

Preferred Experience

• Sheet metal fabrication experience preferred
• Familiarity with aerospace manufacturing standards (AS9100)
• Exposure to Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement programs
• Mechanical experience in aerospace, automotive, or motorsports environments
• Forklift or material handling experience (certification required)

Computer Skills

• Basic proficiency with computer systems and material management software

Additional Requirements

• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
• Ability to comply with OSHA, NADCAP, ISO9000 / AS9100, ITAR, and FAA regulations
• Ability to obtain internal certifications such as forklift, slings/cranes, FPV, or heat treat certifications

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods (8–12 hours per shift)
• Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull 25–50 lbs regularly, with heavier lifting assisted when needed
• Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with moderate noise, vibration, and varying temperatures
• Ability to wear required PPE including safety glasses, gloves, and hearing protection

Safety Sensitive Position

This Manufacturing Technician I position is designated as Safety Sensitive under Oklahoma law, including the Oklahoma Medical Marijuana and Patient Protection Act. Individuals in this role are subject to drug testing, and the use of medical marijuana—even with a valid license—is not permitted.
