Job Description:

The Manufacturing Engineer plays a pivotal role in designing and developing engineering data essential for the smooth operation of production and quality teams. This position involves not only the creation of detailed plans such as work Instructions, inspection plans, configuration management, and manufacturing plans but also requires the interpretation and effective communication of engineering data to both internal and external stakeholders. Working closely with shop supervisors, programmers, planners, and program managers, the manufacturing engineer assists in special projects and ensures that manufacturing plans for detail parts and assemblies align with customer engineering and purchase order requirements. The engineer will design and develop 3D models for various purposes such as internal fixtures, assembly tooling, and packaging crates. A critical aspect of this role involves identifying and defining product configuration discrepancies from engineering requirements and effectively communicating these findings. Furthermore, the Manufacturing Engineer engages with customer engineering to uncover and address embedded requirements. They also provide support in purchasing and estimating processes as necessary and coordinate technical review meetings with shop managers, NC programming, and planning teams to facilitate smooth transitions for new products or engineering changes.

Requirements:

·  Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Engineering Technology, or a similar technical field is preferred. A combination of non-technical education and relevant work experience or specialized training may be considered in lieu of a technical degree.

· Minimum of five (5) years of work experience in manufacturing is required.

·  Familiarity with AS9100 and AS9102 regulations.

· Knowledge of Aerospace materials, specifications, machining, and assembly practices.

· Understanding of Aerospace Quality requirements and specifications.

· Experience with CATIA V5 preferred.

·Ability to accurately read and interpret blueprints, sketches, drawings, and technical specifications.

· Proficient written and verbal communication skills in English to convey both technical and non-technical information and instructions.

· Computer proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); experience administering SharePoint, including utilization of workflows and document revision tracking, is preferred.

·  Experience using an ERP system is preferred.

· Specialized training and experience conducting continuous improvement activities is preferred.
