Manual Radial Drill/Subarc Operator
Pay: $20+ per hour
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 4:30 p.m. – 3:00 a.m.

Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Manual Radial Drill/Subarc Operator to join a fabrication team at the Port of Catoosa. This role involves setting up and operating Manual Radial Drills and Subarc Machines to produce quality components for vessels and exchangers. The Manual Radial Drill/Subarc Operator must have strong machining and welding knowledge, a commitment to safety, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Read prints and specifications for dimensions and layouts.
• Set up parts and operate Manual Radial Drills and Subarc Machines.
• Use precision measuring tools (tape measure, calipers, indicators, micrometers).
• Remove slag using grinders and perform finishing work.
• Operate overhead cranes daily to load parts into machines.
• Occasionally operate forklifts as required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• Minimum 2 years of Manual Radial Drill experience.
• Minimum 3 years of welding experience with pressure vessels or heat exchanger components.
• Moderate ability to weld with SAW processes.
• Ability to pass a weld qualification test to acquire code stamp.
• Skilled in drilling, tapping, and welding within WPS/PQR parameters.
• Proven ability to maintain less than 5% X-Ray repair rate.
• Team-oriented, dependable, and self-motivated with minimal supervision.
• Strong safety focus with pride in workmanship.

Physical Requirements

• Exposure to welding fumes, grinder dust, and noise; PPE required.
• Work area is not climate controlled (heat/cold conditions).
• Must be able to safely lift up to 50 lbs, stand, walk, climb stairs, and reach.
• Ability to work in confined spaces inside vessels and exchangers.
• Must be able to tie off and work from elevated heights.
