Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Manual Machinist to join a precision-focused manufacturing team in Tulsa. The Manual Machinist will plan, set up, and operate manual machines to produce high-tolerance parts while working from blueprints, sketches, and CNC programs. This role offers long-term growth potential, including the opportunity to advance into a CNC Machinist designation.
Key Responsibilities
Machine Operation & Setup
Plan machine operations including part holding, alignment, and tooling selection
Interpret and work from CNC programs, blueprints, and complex sketches
Operate probing systems and use precision measuring instruments to verify dimensions and tolerances
Adjust tooling and setups to meet strict tolerance requirements
Support & Collaboration
Coordinate with CNC programmers regarding tooling and program deviations
Assist maintenance staff with minor servicing tasks (cleaning, oiling, inspections)
Provide guidance and training to other machinists as needed
Safety & Quality Compliance
Follow all facility safety protocols and ISO 9000 quality standards
Safely operate cranes, material-handling equipment, and power tools
Handle and dispose of hazardous materials per EPA regulations and MSDS standards
Produce high-quality precision parts meeting specification
Required Qualifications
Extensive experience in manual machining setup and operation
Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and CNC programs
Skilled with precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, indicators, etc.)
Strong basic math skills for machining calculations
Experience operating cranes and material-handling equipment
Familiarity with hazardous material handling and shop safety standards
Ability to furnish and utilize personal hand tools
Strong communication skills and willingness to assist/train others
