Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Mechanic to perform routine, preventive, and emergency maintenance on a variety of plant equipment. As a Maintenance Mechanic, you will ensure operational efficiency by troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems in a food manufacturing environment.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Perform routine and preventive maintenance on equipment such as conveyors, grinders, slicers, packaging machines, refrigeration units, and other food processing machinery.
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues to minimize downtime.
• Inspect, diagnose, and replace defective parts to maintain efficiency and productivity.
• Conduct regular maintenance on refrigeration and HVAC systems for proper temperature control and food safety.
• Adhere to OSHA, USDA, and FDA guidelines for safety and compliance.
• Assist with equipment installation, upgrades, and modifications.
• Maintain accurate maintenance activity records including work orders, repairs, and inventory.
• Collaborate with production and quality assurance to resolve equipment-related quality issues.
• Train production employees on proper equipment use and troubleshooting.
• Follow company policies, procedures, and GMPs.

Requirements & Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; technical or vocational training preferred.
• 3-5 years of maintenance experience in a food manufacturing or meat processing environment.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Experience with electrical systems, PLCs, and automated machinery is a plus.
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
• Strong problem-solving skills under pressure.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for extended periods, and work in cold or humid environments.
