Job Title: Maintenance Mechanic
Location: Owasso, Oklahoma
Shift: 2nd Shift | Monday – Friday | 3:00 PM – 12:00 AM (Overtime as needed)
Pay: $25.00 – $30.00/hour DOE + Shift Differential

Position Overview:

Stand-By Personnel is currently seeking an experienced Maintenance Mechanic to join our client’s food manufacturing team in Owasso. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining and repairing production equipment, ensuring minimal downtime, and supporting optimal performance across operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine and preventive maintenance on a wide range of plant equipment (conveyors, grinders, slicers, packaging machinery, refrigeration systems, etc.)
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems to reduce production downtime
  • Inspect, diagnose, and replace defective components to maintain machinery performance
  • Conduct maintenance on refrigeration and HVAC systems to ensure optimal temperature control and compliance with food safety standards
  • Follow all safety protocols and regulatory guidelines, including OSHA, USDA, and FDA standards
  • Assist with the installation, upgrade, and modification of equipment as needed
  • Accurately document maintenance activities, including work orders, repair logs, and inventory usage
  • Work cross-functionally with production and quality assurance teams to resolve equipment issues affecting product quality
  • Provide training and support to production personnel on equipment operation and basic troubleshooting
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs)

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required; technical or vocational training strongly preferred
  • 3–5 years of relevant maintenance experience in a food manufacturing or meat processing environment
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on troubleshooting capabilities
  • Familiarity with electrical systems, PLCs, and automation is a plus
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and sanitation practices
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documentation, schematics, and blueprints
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure
  • Must be physically able to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for long periods, and work in cold or humid environments
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays as required
