Lead Painter / Paint Shop Supervisor (Aircraft Repair and Maintenance)

Pay: $52,000–$58,000/year
Location: North of Tulsa Area
Shift: Monday – Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
Job Type: Full-Time

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Painter / Paint Shop Supervisor (Aircraft Repair and Maintenance) to manage day-to-day operations in our aircraft repair and maintenance paint shop. This role offers an excellent opportunity for an experienced Lead Painter / Paint Shop Supervisor (Aircraft Repair and Maintenance) to lead a team focused on high-quality surface preparation, painting, and finishing of commercial aviation components while ensuring full compliance with industry regulations.

Required Experience & Skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification in painting, coatings, or surface finishing preferred
  • 5–7 years of aerospace painting/coating experience
  • 2–3 years of leadership or supervisory experience in a paint or repair environment
  • Strong understanding of MIL-spec coatings, corrosion prevention, and component compatibility
  • Expertise in spray painting, electrostatic applications, masking, and finishing of aircraft and electrical components
  • Ability to manage teams, handle procurement and inventory, and maintain quality assurance
  • Familiarity with FAA, EASA, or other relevant industry standards
  • Ability to work in confined spaces, lift heavy materials, and operate under strict safety protocols
  • Certifications such as hazardous materials handling, respirator fit testing, or thermal spray operations are a plus

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Supervise and train staff on painting, priming, coating, and thermal spray techniques
  • Oversee workflow, team scheduling, and inventory management
  • Inspect finishes for adhesion, corrosion resistance, and color accuracy
  • Troubleshoot coating issues and ensure compatibility with various aircraft systems
  • Collaborate across departments to integrate painting and coating into ongoing repair projects
  • Implement and maintain SOPs, hazardous materials handling, and environmental controls
  • Lead safety initiatives and maintain a high-performance, regulatory-compliant environment as a Lead Painter / Paint Shop Supervisor (Aircraft Repair and Maintenance)

Preferred Education

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in engineering, manufacturing, or technical disciplines
  • Training or certification in LEAN, Six Sigma, or process optimization
