• Position Overview
The Lead Machinist is responsible for overseeing daily machining operations while performing precision machining work to support production goals. This Lead Machinist role requires strong technical ability, shop leadership, and a commitment to quality, efficiency, and safety in a manufacturing environment.
• Required Experience & Skills
• Previous machinist experience required
• Leadership or lead-level shop experience preferred
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
• Strong knowledge of machining processes and shop equipment
• Ability to maintain quality and production standards
• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and guide team members
• Essential Duties & Responsibilities
• Operate machining equipment to produce precision parts and components
• Oversee daily workflow and assist with coordinating shop floor activities
• Set up machines, adjust tooling, and ensure proper machine operation
• Inspect parts to ensure they meet quality and dimensional specifications
• Troubleshoot machining issues and assist with process improvements
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment
• Support training and guidance of other machinists
• Communicate production updates and issues with supervisors
• Preferred Education
• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Technical training or machining certifications are a plus
