Position Overview

A Rail Products Company is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Inspector/Packer to inspect and package heat-forged rail track spikes in a fast-paced production environment. The Inspector/Packer will split duties evenly between visual inspection and packaging operations while ensuring all products meet customer and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

Inspection Duties (50%)

• Visually examine forged spikes for defects such as cracks, pits, laps, discoloration, excessive scale, or deformation
• Use fixed or preset gauges to verify dimensions and head shape
• Monitor product flow on the conveyor line and clear jams as needed

Packaging Duties (50%)

• Operate automated filler equipment to ensure correct container weight
• Adjust and set load scales
• Manually position and transfer filled containers to pallets
• Label containers and maintain accurate production records

Additional Tasks

• Occasionally operate a forklift to move palletized kegs to dock, shrink-wrap area, or storage

Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
• Willingness to perform repetitive tasks with high attention to detail
• Basic understanding of measurement tools and gauges
• Forklift experience preferred (training may be provided)
• Strong work ethic and dependability
