Position Overview

We are seeking a reliable and detail-focused Inspector/Packer to join a rail products company specializing in heat-forged rail track spikes. The Inspector/Packer will split time evenly between inspection and packaging tasks, ensuring all products meet customer and industry quality standards while supporting a fast-paced production environment.

Key Responsibilities

Inspection Duties (50%)

• Visually inspect forged spikes for surface defects such as cracks, pits, laps, discoloration, scale, or deformation
• Use fixed or preset gauges to verify dimensions and head shape
• Monitor spikes on the conveyor line to prevent or clear jams

Packaging Duties (50%)

• Operate automated filler equipment and ensure each container meets proper weight requirements
• Adjust and set load scales as needed
• Manually position and transfer filled containers to pallets
• Label containers with product information and maintain accurate production records

Additional Tasks

• Occasionally operate a forklift to move palletized kegs
• Assist with shrink-wrapping or transferring materials to storage areas

Requirements & Qualifications

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
• Willingness to perform repetitive tasks with strong attention to detail
• Basic understanding of measurement tools and gauges
• Forklift experience preferred (training available)
• Strong work ethic, reliability, and dependability
