Pay Rate: $18.00 - $22.00/hr + 10% Shift Differential
Shift:
· Sunday – Wednesday: 7:00 PM – 5:30 AM
· Thursday & Friday: 9:00 PM – 5:30 AM
· Total Hours: 56 Hours Per Week

Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Industrial Painter to join our team in Oklahoma City. The ideal candidate will be responsible for prepping and painting various materials while adhering to supervisor instructions and company standards. This position requires attention to detail, technical proficiency in painting processes, and the ability to work safely and efficiently in an industrial environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Metal Preparation:
· Prepare all bare metals for painting.
· Clean surfaces using xylene or similar products to remove oil and apply acid wash solutions as required.
· Inspect metal components for flaws and prepare surfaces through sanding or body putty application.
Painting Process:
· Conduct pre-paint inspections of previously painted surfaces; smooth with DA sander and clean accordingly.
· Mix and apply primer paint, ensuring proper viscosity using the Zahn cup (25 to 35 seconds).
· Apply final coatings following pre-paint inspections and adjust viscosity measurements as required.
· Utilize Zahn cup to accurately measure and maintain paint flow consistency.
Material and Equipment Handling:
· Maintain accurate material tracking using the stockroom pink card system.
· Ensure proper maintenance, cleaning, and storage of all paint equipment.
Safety and Compliance:
· Operate overhead cranes, forklifts, and other lifting equipment as required.
· Follow all safety protocols, including those related to paint handling, hazardous materials, and equipment operation.
Requirements:
Education:
· High school diploma or GED required.
Skills and Abilities:
· Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic proficiency.
· Ability to follow written and verbal instructions, including interpreting nameplates and engineering documents.
· Strong knowledge of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Physical Demands:
· Ability to lift 50+ lbs, climb ladders, and stand for extended periods.
· Occasional bending, squatting, and crawling required.
· Frequent physical activity and manual labor involved.
Additional Qualifications:
· Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and physical examination.
· Successful completion of a nationwide criminal background check.
Preferred Experience:
· Minimum of 3 years of industrial painting experience required.
Language and Communication Skills:
· Ability to read and comprehend work instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
· Proficiency in writing simple correspondence and effectively communicating in small group settings.
Mathematical Skills:
· Ability to perform basic arithmetic operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
· Capability to work with fractions and decimals accurately.
Reasoning Ability:
· Competence in interpreting routine blueprints, charts, and diagrams.
· Ability to follow detailed written or oral instructions effectively.
Work Environment:
· Work may involve exposure to indoor and outdoor settings with varying temperatures.
· Potential exposure to moving mechanical parts and high-voltage equipment.
· Tasks may require climbing ladders, kneeling, and lifting heavy materials.
