Header Fitter Welder

• Pay: $26+/hour, Based on Experience
• Hours: Night Shift - 5:00 PM to 3:30 AM

Job Description

As a Header Fitter Welder, your responsibilities will include:

• Reading and interpreting blueprints for layout and assembly.
• Accurately fitting and welding fabricated and forged components to assemble header components using Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW), Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW), and/or Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW) processes as required.
• Positioning, aligning, and fitting components together, and tack-welding parts into place using the appropriate welding processes and procedures.
• Setting up welding equipment for the material and process required.
• Using tools such as hammers, wedges, and drift pins to complete assembly tasks.
• Grinding rough edges, surplus welds, or scale using a portable grinder.
• Positioning and securing workpieces manually or with overhead or jib cranes.
• Straightening warped or bent parts using a straightening press.
• Utilizing cutting tools, including cutting torches and plasma cutters, with precision.
• Proficiently using measuring tools such as tape measures, squares, and levels for accurate execution.
• Maintaining production records of parts and jobs as required by the Department Manager.
