Key Responsibilities

  • Department Management

    • Oversee work procedures, prepare schedules, and manage workflow within the Header department.
    • Issue written and oral instructions and assign duties to team members.
    • Examine work for precision, neatness, and adherence to company policies and procedures.
  • Process Improvement & Standardization

    • Study and implement standardized procedures to increase worker efficiency.
    • Maintain harmony among team members and address grievances effectively.
  • Cross-Functional Coordination

    • Collaborate with other department managers to ensure coordinated functions, such as production, inventory management, and quality assurance.
    • Deploy policies focusing on Lean Manufacturing, quality, cost reduction, on-time delivery, safety, customer satisfaction, and visual controls.
  • Production & Scheduling

    • Plan, schedule, and coordinate departmental activities to meet sales orders, inventory requirements, and delivery dates.
    • Review and update the New Generation Operation Schedule (NGOS) as needed.
  • Safety & Maintenance

    • Communicate regularly with the maintenance team regarding repair needs in the department.
    • Ensure safety protocols and incident reporting procedures are followed; escalate issues to the Safety Manager/Technician or HR Manager.
  • Material & Inventory Management

    • Manage material requirements to optimize inventory turnover and reduce levels on hand.
  • Leadership & Employee Development

    • Provide leadership for problem resolution, fostering a collaborative work environment.
    • Identify and develop employees’ skills through coaching and counseling.
    • Conduct annual performance reviews and provide continual feedback on performance.
  • Safety & Quality Compliance

    • Conduct weekly safety meetings and monitor quality according to the company’s Quality Plan.
  • Budget Management

    • Manage the department’s budget, including creating the budget and tracking results monthly.
    • Plan workforce requirements per position in alignment with budget constraints.
  • Supervision of Employees

    • Direct and supervise 60 to 75 non-exempt employees, including interviewing, hiring, training, appraising, and disciplining employees.
    • Manage work schedules, pay rates, safety, and overall departmental activities per customer's policies and legal requirements.
  • Adaptability & Attendance

    • Ability to perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing situations.
    • Regular and punctual attendance is required.

Requirements

  • Experience: Minimum of 10 years in general management within a manufacturing environment is required.
