Job Description:
The Header Cleaner is responsible for the cleaning, maintenance, and inspection of headers, tubes, and other components within industrial heat exchangers. This role is essential to ensure the efficient operation, longevity, and performance of heat exchanger systems. The Header Cleaner plays a vital part in maintaining cleanliness, preventing blockages, and supporting operational efficiency in industries such as oil & gas, chemical processing, power generation, and manufacturing.
Key Responsibilities:Cleaning Heat Exchanger Headers and Tubes: Remove deposits, scale, fouling, and other contaminants from headers, tube bundles, and other heat exchanger components using high-pressure water jets, chemical cleaning solutions, or mechanical tools.
Inspection and Assessment: Conduct visual inspections of headers, tubes, and plates to identify blockages, wear, corrosion, or damage, and report findings to the maintenance team or supervisor.
Equipment Operation: Operate and maintain cleaning tools and equipment, including hydroblasting machines, rotary tube cleaners, pressure washers, and specialized cleaning tools.
Safety Compliance: Follow company and industry health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures.
Chemical Handling: Properly prepare, handle, and apply cleaning agents and chemicals used for descaling and decontamination, ensuring compliance with safety data sheets (SDS) and environmental guidelines.
Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of cleaning activities, inspections, and any maintenance issues observed during the cleaning process.
Team Collaboration: Work as part of a maintenance team, collaborating with technicians, engineers, and supervisors to meet cleaning schedules and resolve operational issues.
