Position Overview

The Grinder is responsible for smoothing, polishing, and finishing metal components to meet quality and production standards. This Grinder role plays an important part in preparing materials for final finishing by removing defects and ensuring clean, accurate surfaces.

Required Experience & Skills

• Ability to use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively
• Understanding of grinding, sanding, and polishing techniques
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
• Strong attention to detail and quality standards
• Physical stamina to work in a manufacturing environment
• Experience in a manufacturing or shop environment preferred
• High School Diploma or equivalent (preferred)

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

The Grinder role includes:

• Grind, sand, clean, and polish metal parts to remove defects and prepare surfaces
• Select and mount grinding pads and abrasives according to job specifications
• Use hand grinders and tools to achieve smooth, finished surfaces
• Fill cracks and blemishes using bondo or similar materials
• Inspect parts to ensure quality and consistency
• Maintain a clean and organized work area
• Follow all safety procedures and company guidelines
• Perform additional duties as assigned to support production

Preferred Experience

• Previous experience in grinding, finishing, or general labor roles
• Familiarity with metal finishing processes and shop environments

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and perform physical work for extended periods
• Frequent lifting, bending, and repetitive motion
• Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with noise and dust
